Granite Ridge Strategies, LLC ("GRS," "we," "our," or "us") operates the website graniteridgestrategies.com and the tools and services available through it (collectively, the "Service"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it.
By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to the practices described in this policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
Information We Collect
We collect information in two ways: information you provide directly, and information generated automatically when you use the Service.
Information you provide:
- Account information — your name and email address when you register for an account.
- Payment information — if you subscribe to a paid plan, payment details are collected and processed by Stripe, Inc. GRS does not store your credit card number or billing details directly.
- Audio and media files — files you upload or URLs you submit for transcription.
- Communications — any messages you send to us by email or through the Service.
Information collected automatically:
- Log data — standard server logs including your IP address, browser type, pages visited, and timestamps.
- Cookies and session data — we use cookies to keep you logged in and maintain your session. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide the transcription and research tools you request
- Deliver transcripts to your email inbox via our email provider, Resend
- Process payments through Stripe
- Respond to your support requests and communications
- Maintain the security and integrity of the Service
- Comply with applicable legal obligations
We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your data to train AI models.
Audio Files and Transcripts
Audio and media files you upload or submit for transcription are used solely to generate your transcript. Uploaded files are deleted from our servers promptly after your transcript has been produced. Transcripts themselves are retained in your account until you delete them or close your account.
To generate transcripts, audio is transmitted to our transcription provider, AssemblyAI. As part of this process, AssemblyAI uses speaker diarization technology, which analyzes voice characteristics (such as vocal patterns and speech attributes) to distinguish between individual speakers in a recording. This analysis is performed solely for the purpose of producing an accurate, speaker-labeled transcript. Neither GRS nor AssemblyAI retains audio data or biometric information derived from it after transcription is complete.
Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited personal information with trusted third-party providers who help us operate the Service. These providers are contractually required to protect your data and may only use it to perform services on our behalf.

- AssemblyAI — audio transcription and speaker diarization. When you submit audio for transcription, the audio is sent to AssemblyAI's servers for processing. AssemblyAI analyzes voice characteristics to distinguish individual speakers in the recording (speaker diarization). We do not share your personal information with third parties beyond those listed above, except as required by law.
Data Retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your personal information within 30 days, except where retention is required to comply with legal obligations or resolve disputes.
Your Rights
Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate information
- Request deletion of your personal information
- Opt out of any future marketing communications
California residents have additional rights under the California Privacy Rights Act (CPRA), including the right to know what personal information is sold or shared (we do neither) and the right to non-discrimination for exercising privacy rights.

Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, however, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

The Service is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the effective date at the top of this page. We encourage you to review this policy periodically. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
